Several government employees from different sectors joined the annual RACE TO SERVE Fun Run with the theme of “Kayang Kaya Mo, Lingkod Bayani!” a fund-raising activity spearheaded by The Civil Service Commission-NCR, Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) and other partner agencies. This fun-filled event was held last September 12, 2015 (Saturday) at The Quirino Grandstand. The yearly fun run promotes awareness on many aspects. It reminds government employees regarding their mandate and dedication to serve the Filipino people and at the same time, emphasizes the importance of healthy well-being aside from fostering camaraderie among government servants.

Every person you ask in the street knows several benefits of running, but the most challenging part of it is how to even start doing or sustaining it. As the old saying goes, “no pain, no gain.”  There are countless benefits running can give. It can slash your risk of heart disease, strengthen your joints, relieve stress, strengthen your bones, and boost your confidence, among others.

The race has three categories, the 10k, 5k and 3k. Proceeds from the Fun Run go to the Pondong Pamanang Lingkod Bayani (PLBi), which honors civil servants who died in the line of duty.
