Dr. Relito M. Squilayan, the Medical Center Chief II presented the highlights and multi-year strategic deliverables of Rizal Med in its continuing journey to attain Good Governance under the Performance Governance System (PGS) relative to its vision of becoming the preferred end-referral medical center in Eastern NCR and CALABARZON for Surgery, Oncology, Neuroscience, Ophthalmology and Dermatology by 2022. The panel of experts is composed of governance leaders from different sectors namely, Dr. Ancieto B. Fontanilla, Mr. Guillermo M. Luz, Trustee and Fellow of Institute for Solidarity in Asia, Dr. Juliet Balderas, Associate of Institute for Solidarity in Asia, Dr. Bu C. Castro, Former President Philippine Medical Association, Dr. Fe Esperanza J. Espino Head Parasitology Department, Research Institute for Tropical Medicine and Mr. Orlando Clavinez, Medical Field Operations Manager of Wyeth Philippines.
After successfully meeting the necessary elements of the Performance Governance System (PGS) Compliance Stage, Rizal Medical Center is now PGS Compliant as conferred by the Institute for Solidarity in Asia (ISA) during the recently held Public Governance Forum on June 27, 2019 at the Unilab, Bayanihan Center, Pasig City. Rizal Medical Center has achieved this Compliant Status 6 months after its Initiation Stage conferral in November of 2018. It is also during this initiation stage conferral that the hospital has also bagged the Gold Trailblazer award for surpassing the requirements for Initiation.

Ang Sentrong Medikal ng Rizal ay nakibahagi sa pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika sa programa ng Komisyon ng Wikang Filipino (KWF). Ito’y itinakda ng Pampanguluhang Proklamsyon Blg. 1041 s. 1997, at bilang pakiki-isa, ang Sentrong Medikal ng Rizal ay sinimulang mai-angat ang kamalayan ng bawat empleyado, sibiko at maganyak pati mga pasyente at mga bantay sa pamamagitan ng paggamit ng kasuotang “Filipino”.
Ito’y sinimulan noong ika-6 ng Agosto sa pamamagitan ng maikling palatuntunang inihanda ng Dibisyon ng Narsing sa pamumuno ni Gng. Louise Marie D. Flores, Hepe ng Narsing, na isinabay sa Pagtataas ng Bandila ng Pilipinas sa Awditoryum ng ospital. Ang selebrasyon ay napatingkad ng makukulay na kasuotang Filipiniana at ng mga sinaunang Filipino ng mga nakiisang kawani. Ipinahayag din ang simula ng “Patimpalak sa Pinakamagandang Kasuotang Filipiniana” na pipiliin mula sa mga makiki-isa tuwing Lunes ng buong buwan ng Agosto.

Damang-dama ang pagbabalik sa kasaysayan sa huling araw ng pagdiriwang ng Sentrong Medikal ng Rizal ng Buwan ng Wika (20 Agosto 2018) sa awditoryum ng ospital. Naantig din ang damdaming makabayan sa pamamagitan ng mga kasuotan mula sa sinaunang panahon at iba’t ibang rehiyon ng bansa.
Mga nagwagi sa patimpalak ng “Kasuotang Filipiniana.”
Ang mga nagwagi sa patimpalak ng “Kasuotang Filipiniana” ay pinarangalan noong ika-10 ng Setyembre 2018. Ang mga ito’y pasimula lamang sa taun-taong pagdiriwang at pakikilahok ng Sentrong Medikal ng Rizal sa mga programa KWF upang maipagpatuloy ang kamalayan at pagtangkilik ng mga kawani sa wikang Filipino.
Last March 6, 2018, Asec. Dr. Maria Francia M. Laxamana of the Department of Health had a surprise visit to the Emergency Room of Rizal Med to check on the Dengue Fast Lane provided by the hospital for our patients. The Dengue Fast Lane was staffed by one of our passionate and dedicated nurses in the person of Ms. Marga Mae Mariano. Ms. Mariano was trained to care for pediatric patients and is certified in infectious disease nursing by the Department of health. Dr. Laxama was ushered by Dr. Buddy Ortego (Chief Administrative Officer) and Dr. Louise Marie Flores (Chief Nursing Officer) throughout the visit.
Also, last March 9, 2018, Dr. Francisco T. Duque III, our health Secretary, came to Rizal Med for a visit. During his visit, he went to the Emergency Room Department as well and checked on the Dengue Fast lane in response to public concerns brought about by the threat of denguevaxia. Together with Dr. Relito Saquilayan (Medical Center Chief), the health secretary visited the Pediatric Ward to check on the condition of a Denguevaxia-vaccinated patient. The nurses and doctors at the Pediatric Ward assured the health secretary via their work ethic that the best nursing and medical care are being provided for our institution’s dear clients afflicted with dengue.
We, at Rizal Medical Center, are in unison with the Department of Health in achieving the goal of giving the best care and treatment to our dengue patients and we are striving in making this goal a reality. Rizal Med fights hand in hand with the Department of Health against dengue!
