Yellow Team, composed of Rizal Medical Center, Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center, Las Piñas General Hospital & Satellite Trauma Center, and San Lorenzo Ruiz Women’s Hospital, won the 2014 Hospital Olympics held at Ynares Sports Arena, Pasig City last August 12, 2014.

Players competed in 10 games consisting of 4-on-4 Basketball, Volleyball, Kick Ball, Ball Dribbling Relay Challenge, Rainbow Shoot-out, Hilahang Lubid, Tsibog Olympics, Suot Lusot, Takbong Linis Bilis, and Hula Hoop.

The event was participated in by 21 Hospitals – Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center, Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center, East Avenue Medical Center, Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital, Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital, Las Piñas Gen. Hosp. & Satellite Trauma Center, National Center for Mental Health, National Children’s Hospital, National Center for Geriatric Health, Philippine Orthopedic Center, Quirino Memorial Medical Center, Research Institute for Tropical Medicine, Rizal Medical Center, San Lazaro Hospital, San Lorenzo Ruiz Women’s Hospital, Tondo Medical Center, Valenzuela Medical Center, Lung Center  of the Philippines, National Kidney & Transplant Institute, Philippine Heart Center and Philippine Children’s Medical Center.

This Sports activity was the culmination of National Hospital Week Celebration with this year’s theme : “Pagamutang DEKALIDAD para sa Mamamayan.” Former President Fidel V. Ramos issued Proclamation No. 181 on May 23, 1993 declaring the period of August 6-12 every year as “National Hospital Week”. This event was organized and supervised by Magna Kultura.

On October 13, 2013, the front page of the Philippine Daily Inquirer read: “Pasig hospital back in good health, earns ISO approval.” This pertains to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2008 certification that the Rizal Medical Center had recently acquired after a yearlong preparation.This writer feels nothing but extreme elation brought on by this outstanding achievement, which is actually the first step of our journey towards continuous delivery of quality services to patients.
