- The Department of Dermatology was established in 2017
- The Skin Center has a 500 square meter area, located at the third floor Out-patient Department of the Rizal Medical Center.
- Designated as an Advanced and Comprehensive Specialty Center in Dermatology by the Philippines’ Department (Ministry) of Health
- Continuously building its service capability to address difficult to manage cases and rare diseases.
- 2020: Residency training program accredited by the the Philippine Dermatological Society (PDS)
- One of the strategies of the department to be a Center for Excellence is the creation of disease- focused centers with the aim of providing leadership and best clinical practices based on research and training for a focused area. One of these centers is the department’s Eczema and Allergy Center (EAC) that was established in 2019 under hospital order 2019-0018 and aims to be a recognized multidisciplinary center that provides a holistic approach in the evaluation and management of eczema and allergy.
- As of now, the Department has 2 specialty centers (Psoriasis Center, Eczema and Allergy Center); 7 clinics, (Rheumadermatology, Blistering Diseases, Cosmetic Dermatology, Dermato-Oncology, Hair & Nail, Pediatric Dermatology, Pigment Clinic); and 3 clinical hubs (Community Dermatology Medicine, Leprosy, Venereology)
- The Department currently has 24 consultants, 15 residents and 5 nursing staff
